This month sees the University embark on an exciting new initiative, launching a programme to help further our ambitions to be a world-leading research-intensive university.
The Creating Our Future programme aims to develop a compelling and credible new vision and corporate strategy for the University to face the considerable challenges that lie ahead.
The programme, which is being managed by the Corporate Planning team, comprises two distinct phases:
Phase 1 (January – September 2009)
Information gathering and horizon scanning led by the Vice-Chancellor
Phase 2 (October 2009 – December 2010)
Development of the strategy under the leadership of the new Vice-Chancellor
Work is already underway on Phase 1 to provide a solid foundation for Phase 2 which will begin when new Vice-Chancellor Professor Don Nutbeam takes up his post later this year.
The active involvement of staff, students and other stakeholders will be crucial to the project’s success and there will be a series of opportunities for people to contribute ideas during the year ahead.
