What is Second Life?
Second Life® is a 3-D virtual world created by its residents. Since opening to the public in 2003, it has grown enormously and today is inhabited by millions of residents from around the globe. Anyone can become a resident of Second Life, just by creating an avatar and logging on. Once you have entered the virtual world you will find a vast array of people, cultures, entertainment and experiences to interact with.
What is the University campus like?
The campus, contains several key areas, the first of these is a Welcome Centre, the hub of the island where people can post their interests and ideas for activities. The campus also houses an auditorium for events and lectures and a campus scale model. The remaining space has been divided up into sandbox areas for Schools and groups to work and experiment in.
