In order to give the wider University community access to information on decisions taken by University committees, the University Executive Group (UEG) which meets monthly, now publishes its minutes on Noticeboard.
UEG plays a pivotal role in the new committee structure that was introduced last year. It sits between the governing body, Council, and the Senate, the University’s supreme authority on academic matters. It coordinates strategies and policies, develops major initiatives, presents financial plans and makes proposals to Senate and Council. (Details of all the committees in the structure can be found on the ‘Inside Southampton’ web page in the section on governance: www.soton.ac.uk/about/councilmembers/index.html).
Any questions or queries about the committee information that is posted on Noticeboard should be directed to the Registrar and Chief Operating Officer’s Office.
