Generation Y is storming into the workplace, infused with energy, talent and attitudes geared for a fast-changing world. As many baby boomers head towards retirement and Generation Y begins to take the spotlight and target centre stage, marketers forecast this population – those born between 1979 and 1995 – will have a huge economic and social impact in the coming years. Those organisations that can effectively manage and retain them will undoubtedly perform best.
However there are pitfalls for unwary employers as they can be difficult to manage, have expectations beyond their current abilities and show loyalty to communities rather than organisations.
This presentation and workshop will provide an insight into the world of generation y in the context of a climate of economic uncertainty. There are challenges ahead in managing the expectations of this talent pool as well as opportunities in developing a skill set to optimise the performance of your workforce.
