Five students from the School of Management have won an award from social enterprise Sequal in a University of Southampton business competition.
Challenged to come up with an innovative commercial idea – which could be developed into a potential business opportunity for Sequal – the winning team devised a ‘one stop shop’ to supply and fit low-cost energy-saving devices for householders.
Heather Shaw, Emily Gollop, Caroline Amos, Sabina Jane Sheehan and Carly Malling were presented with a trophy by Sequal and shared the £250 top prize. Two other teams also received awards and cheques.
Graham Manville, Assistant Dean (Enterprise) for the Faculty of LASS added: ‘This was a valuable opportunity for students to put their knowledge into practice. They enjoyed the challenge and learned a great deal about business in the real world.’
