Global Opportunities for Early Career Researchers

Research Mobility Programme

As part of the membership of the Worldwide Universities Network‚ the University operates the Research Mobility Programme (RMP). The RMP offers early career researchers (senior PGRs‚ postdocs and junior faculty) the opportunity to visit one of the international WUN partners in Europe, North America, South East Asia and Australia to establish and cultivate research links at an institutional and individual level.

Well kept secret

Since the programme began in 2001, Southampton alone has made nearly 100 awards and many former awardees credit the programme with having had a significant impact on their research and on their career development in an international context. One recent awardee described their visit as the “best decision of [his] PhD”, another as a “tremendous opportunity” and yet the programme remains something of a well kept secret.

Don’t miss out

The WUN Research Mobility Programme allocates up to £30k per annum funding visits of up to 6 months and operates two deadlines; 30 November and 15 March. Don’t miss out on this opportunity. For more information please visit www.wun.ac.uk/rmp.php and southampton.likn.co/wun/irmp.html and come along to one of the information sessions that run in June, September and January every year. Here you will be able to hear from former awardees and ask questions about the application process.

*Forthcoming information sessions*:

Monday 8 June 1:30pm-2.30pm Building 67/1027

Tuesday 9 June 3:30pm-4:30pm Avenue Campus 65/Lecture Theatre A
