Two years after construction commenced‚ the Life Sciences building is almost ready for occupation. A striking addition to the Highfield campus‚ the building will be accessed from Library Square via a route combining hard and soft landscaping.
On 21 July‚ Biological Sciences and the Faculty of Medicine’s student administration office and Medical Education Unit will move into the building over a 10 week period. During this time access to the building will be restricted to its new occupants.
From late September the building will be operational and the public areas on Level 2 will be accessible to everyone in the University. These include a learning zone with four Common Learning Spaces (CLS) teaching rooms, an i-café and break-out space with WiFi access, together with a Lattes grab-and-go café.
Correction: Please note that in this article CLS stands for common learning spaces and not Centre for Language Studies as stated in today’s e-Voice.
