Join the audience for new BBC Radio 4 quiz show

Staff and students are invited to be part of an audience for a brand new BBC Radio 4 quiz show that is being recorded at the Turner Sims on Wednesday 10 November.

‘The 3rd Degree’ is a new radio quiz‚ to be broadcast on BBC Radio 4 in the New Year‚ that pits three Southampton academics against three Southampton students in a battle of general knowledge and specialist subject. The show is hosted by Steve Punt (from Radio 4’s “The Now Show”) and will take about an hour to record.

Who will come out on top? Will the young generation reared on Twitter and downloads use their lightning-fast minds to overcome their elders and betters? Or will the denizens of academia demonstrate superior knowledge?

The recording takes place on Wednesday 10 November at Turner Sims. Doors open at 5.30pm for a 6pm start (finishing no later than 7pm) and entry is free!

Please book your place in the audience by emailing [email protected]

The show is produced by Pozzitive Television, a company that specialises in scripted comedy and entertainment. Their shows include Victoria Wood’s “dinnerladies” and a lot of Steve Coogan’s work (like the “Paul & Pauline Calf Video Diaries” and “Coogan’s Run”). In radio terms, they produce shows for BBC Radio 4 like “Cabin Pressure”, “Armando Iannucci’s Charm Offensive”, “Another Case Of Milton Jones” and “Giles Wemmbley Hogg Goes Off” to name a few.
