Royal Mail advises:
“Following the recent security incident‚ the DfT has issued directions prohibiting the carriage by air of ink or toner cartridges weighing more than 500g‚ with immediate effect. In adhering to these restrictions Royal Mail is unable to use our UK inland or international air network to transport items of this nature.
“We know how important it is to keep your mail moving‚ so we’re diverting affected items to alternative road and /or sea routes. This means that delays will be experienced to some items posted to international destinations, as well as a short delay to more distant inland locations, such as Ireland, Scilly isles, channel Isles and the Shetlands.”
