Show your support – join the night walk on White Ribbon Day

On Thursday 25 November Southampton Domestic Violence Forum will be holding a night walk in Southampton to mark White Ribbon Day 2010‚ the international day for the elimination of violence against women.

The walk will take in some of the key landmarks and buildings in Southampton with plans for some focal points to keep walkers inspired along the way. We encourage everyone – male and female – to attend and show they will not condone violence against women and girls; the aim is to raise awareness of domestic violence issues in Southampton and show there are services available to support those coming forward to disclose.

The event starts at Holy Rood Church in the city centre from 7pm, where there will be a small opening ceremony before the march starts at around 7.30pm. The walk takes around 1 hour, finishing at the Bargate where the ICE Bus will be handing out refreshments for walkers! For more information visit: www.southampton.gov.uk/whiteribbon
