Staff and students are welcome to attend an open afternoon to celebrate the Creative Campus Initiative (CCI) on Monday 13 December between 1.30 and 4pm in the John Hansard Gallery.
CCI was a collaborative project with 12 other universities in the South East that was devoted to cultural and outreach activities intended as part of the build–up towards the London Olympics and Cultural Olympiad.
Here in Southampton a range of projects was mounted, and the event on Monday offers the opportunity to view the results of these projects. This marks the culmination of Phase 1 of the project. Visitors on the afternoon will be able to view presentations of all the projects that took place at the University.
Projects at Southampton were awarded the ‘Inspire’ mark – official recognition of their links with the Olympics, and have significantly widened our participation into the community.
Academic staff and students have established valuable links with local business and Schools and the University, partnered with Solent, Portsmouth and Winchester University has formed great work in linking individual projects.
