The University will once again be celebrating International Women’s Day‚ with events on 7‚ 8 and 9 March 2011 and the Women’s Day Dinner on the evening of 8 March. Look out for an announcement about the programme of events connected to the experience of international women at the University‚ career progression‚ getting into law and ‘the imposter syndrome’. Staff and students are also invited to participate in a photography competition to celebrate the day, responding to the topic ‘A Portrait of Cultural Diversity: International Women at the University of Southampton.’ There is a £200 prize for the overall winner.
Entries should be emailed to [email protected] by 20 February 2011, indicating the participant’s name and staff / student ID on the email subject line, with the title and explanatory text on the main body of the email. Images can be in black and white or colour. Each entry should be accompanied by a title (maximum 15 words per image and/or series of up to 5 photographs) and explanatory text (maximum 30 words per image and/or series of photographs). Images should be submitted in jpeg format with 1500 pixels on the shortest side. Files should not exceed 1MB per image.
