The Government has agreed that the marriage of Prince William and Catherine Middleton on Friday 29 April 2011 will be marked by a public holiday.
UEG gave notice on 15 February that all staff will be entitled to an additional day of leave to be taken on the same basis as other public holidays that fall outside the Christmas and Easter closure periods. It is recognised that some University activities (for example the Library‚ Sports Rec‚ Security and other services) may continue to operate as normal‚ or as per normal bank holiday arrangements.
As it is not possible to add this public holiday on MyView‚ all leave arrangements will be agreed and recorded locally.
