China Scholarship Council (CSC) Programme – opportunity to apply

Two scholarships have been awarded by the Chinese Government for students of the University of Southampton to study in China. Applicants must be non–Chinese nationals enrolled at the University in order to be eligible to apply. Applications can be for taught undergraduate courses‚ masters courses‚ PhD research programmes or non–award bearing scholar or senior scholar years.

The scholarships are guaranteed for the year 2011-12, but follow–on funding is available for students applying for courses of a longer duration. The language of tuition will be Chinese and a foundation year of Chinese language will be provided for students without the appropriate language background. Students wishing to learn Chinese can apply specifically for a one or two year language programme. The Centre for Contemporary China (CCC) will advise on suitable institutions and place students at our partner Universities

They should then submit a CV along with a covering letter identifying the preferred subject, level of study and motivations in applying for the scholarship to Mark Cranshaw in the CCC [email protected]. Documents should be submitted by Friday 4 March. Successful applicants will be informed within the following few days in order to allow time to comply with the final submission date of 25 March.
