Following a nationally competitive recruitment process‚ the Chair of Council has approved the appointment of Malcolm Ace as the University’s Chief Operating Officer. He will take up his position today (Monday 28 March 2011).
Malcolm was previously the Director of Finance having been appointed in August 2004‚ from a similar role at Portsmouth University. He was appointed Chief Financial Officer in April 2010 taking on expanded operational and strategic responsibilities to include Estates and IT.
Malcolm commented: “The outside environment is changing faster than it ever has in my career‚ and it is a real privilege to be appointed to lead the professional services teams at this crucial time for the University’s future. I am determined that we will deliver outstanding professional services, seeking always to add significant value to the University.”
