Building closures on 20 and 21 April

The University has decided to completely close the majority of University buildings to staff and students from midnight on Tuesday 19 April to midnight on Thursday 21 April (timed to coincide with the standard closure days over the Easter period) as a telephone system upgrade is going to take place which means that internal telephones will not work. We hope this does not cause too much inconvenience.

The John Hansard Gallery‚ the Nuffield Theatre, Halls of Residence and the University Health Centre will remain open. All other buildings will be closed.

Where access MUST be granted to a building for mandatory activity that would create risk if it was not attended to on these dates, colleagues will need their staff card as well as a pin number in order to gain entry. If a member of staff does not know their pin, they should contact Dave Key ([email protected]) by 5pm on Monday 18 April so that a PIN can be issued.

Without prior arrangements in place, the buildings will not be accessible. If access MUST be gained, the 24hr Central Control Room can be contacted on 023 8055 8477 or 023 8055 6842. These phone numbers are specifically provided for this operation only, and should not be used after the 21st April.

For further information or assistance please contact Dave Key at [email protected].
