The encounter between Britain and South Asia has created a long-lasting connection and fascination. From tiger–hunting to the North–West Frontier‚ the great monuments of the Mughals to the first years of the new India‚ it articulates a range of perspectives on empire and nationhood‚ with material on the wars in Mysore against Tipu Sultan‚ the Great Rebellion and Civil Mutiny of 1857‚ the tour of the Prince of Wales in 1921, and the concerns of Jawaharlal Nehru in 1948.
