A one day event for the general public‚ students and staff on the theme of ‘Sense and Sensibility’. 2011 marks the bicentenary of the publication of Austen’s novel and the talks will present the opportunity to learn more about the novel and Austen herself‚ as well as considering the wider cultural context and impact of both.
£25 per person including lunch and refreshments (discounted to £20 for University of Southampton students, staff and alumni, and members of Parkes Inst)
The day will consist of a series of talks by experts from the University’s English department with opportunities for questions and discussion.
