Update: New funding opportunities for collaboration with Brazil – deadline extended

The deadline to submit applications to the FAPESP – University of Southampton call has been extended to 22 July 2011.

The joint call was launched on 11 May 2011 in Brazil by Prof Mark Spearing‚ Pro Vice-Chancellor (International)‚ accompanied by Prof Sir John Beddington‚ the UK Government’s Chief Scientific Advisor. This new co-operation agreement with Brazilian research funding body FAPESP enables the development of joint research projects between Southampton and universities in the State of Sao Paulo in Brazil, which are eligible for FAPESP funding. Under the call, grants will be available to researchers at Southampton and the eligible Brazilian Universities to fund visits and associated costs. The call covers research in all disciplines.

The agreement shows the commitment the University of Southampton has in working partners in Latin America to support both researchers and students interested in working with, or studying at the University. For information about how to apply please visit the FAPESP website as well as the guidelines available in the International Office pages in SUSSED.
