Experimental music performance: Bang the Bore X – Zone of Alienation, Saturday 6 August, 7-10pm, John Hansard Gallery

Bang the Bore‚ experimental and improvised music collaborators‚ present their tenth event. Taking place within the John Hansard Gallery in conjunction with the latest exhibition‚ ‘Jane and Louise Wilson’‚ the performance is themed around nuclear energy in the context of the wider energy industry‚ culturally embedded fears‚ environmental impact and humanity’s ceaseless and increasing demand for more power.

Free – no booking required.

Zone of Alienation will feature variations on a range of seminal scores, including

Clocker (for Geiger Counter) – original composition by Alvin Lucier

Concret PH (for Oil Shale) – original composition by Iannis Xenakis

God of Concrete, God of Steel – Frederick R.C. Clarke and Richard Granville Jones
