In late December 2011‚ the University and Colleges Employers Association (UCEA) informed member institutions that in UCEA’s view‚ members were free to consider the payment to staff of a salary award of £150 consolidated increase on each scale point backdated to August 2011. The University would want to pay the award to staff as quickly as possible, and therefore the new pay scales will be applied to the January 2012 payroll, and the January salaries will also contain the appropriate amount of back pay for eligible individual staff.
