The first ‘Southampton Stonewall Lecture’ will be taking place on Thursday 1 March at 6pm on Avenue Campus (Lecture Theatre B). It is a public lecture.
We are delighted to have as our first speaker Angela Mason‚ first director of Stonewall‚ who will give a personal view on the last quarter century of developments:
‘Twenty-Five Years On: The Fight for LGBT Rights in the UK’
This annual Southampton Stonewall lecture has been devised specifically to explore the history of the gay/lesbian past but also to mirror the University’s ongoing commitment to diversity and equality. This year the lecture will also form the conclusion of ‘2012 LGBT History Month’, for which a range of activities are planned across the university, including a LGBT History Workshop on Wednesday 15 February on Avenue Campus.
