Workshop on telehealth and telecare system re-design – Wednesday 25th January

The Wessex Health and Innovation Education Cluster (HIEC) is hosting a workshop on Wednesday 25th January 2012 from 0930 to 1400. This will be held at the University.

Speakers: Elizabeth Hale‚ Consultant‚ formerly of the Audit Commission and Richard Giordano‚ Senior Lecturer, School of Health Sciences, UoS.

The workshop will:

• Describe barriers and drivers around the implementation of telecare and telehealth in England.

• Describe local and national projects that have made progress in using these technologies as part of their service delivery.

• describe tools and techniques that can assist project and transformation managers in NHS and other organisations with how to make the case for change

• Cover issues that need to be considered when embarking on using this technology in service re-design and potential savings to be accrued.

• Cover some of the issues for managers and leaders that emerged through the Whole System Demonstrator programme.

Who should attend: clinicians, academics and project managers interested in how telecare and telehealth can transform pathways in health and social care.

Wessex HIEC, NHS and local authority care services have to meet growing demands effectively while managing resources efficiently.

Innovation is a core part of this process. The Wessex HIEC partnership has been set up to champion innovation in service development and related workforce programmes. The University of Southampton is hosting the delivery programme on behalf of the Partnership.
