Sustainability campaign launched today: "A globally responsible university – Committed to sustainability"

This morning Professor Judith Petts emailed all staff to kick off a major sustainability campaign at the University.

Over the coming months staff and students will hear a lot about the importance of reducing our carbon emissions and improving the sustainability of the way we work and study. This is important to all of us for different reasons‚ be it reducing our carbon footprint‚ improving our local environment‚ or the substantial financial saving that comes from reducing our energy usage.

For the next month we are asking you to submit your suggestions for how you can reduce your environmental impact in your office and building‚ as well as bigger changes that you’d like to see across our campuses. All suggestions will be considered at the end of February and a fund has been set aside to action the best suggestions.

You will be able to follow progress in the Voice magazine, eVoice, the Noticeboard and through our dedicated Twitter feed.

Please get in touch by emailing [email protected] or tweet us @sustainable_UoS
