The annual programme of Women’s Day events has just been announced. It is great to see our senior women are getting involved again this year‚ with University Chancellor Dame Helen Alexander giving a talk at the ‘Celebrating Women’ event and Tessa Harrison our Registrar delivering a monologue as part of ‘Women in Theatre,’ a theatrical showcase directed by and starring staff and students.
‘Celebrating Women,’ this year’s main activity, is a free evening event for staff, students and local people – although you need to book a place as numbers are limited. The event includes three thought provoking speakers, a Jazzmanix performance, plenty of time to network and socialise, free light refreshments and a DJ for those who wish to stay late and continue the celebrations. The event will be opened by Professor Debra Humphris, the Sponsor for Women’s Day and Professor Jeremy Howells, the University’s Diversity Champion.
Throughout the week there will be seminars, workshops and networking events catering for a range of interests, with most open to both staff and students, women and men.
Visit the website to find out more, book a place or tell us what you would like to see on next year’s programme.
