On 19 April Dame Helen Alexander DBE will be officially installed as the Chancellor of the University‚ in an important historical and ceremonial occasion for the University. We are pleased to announce that staff and students will be able to participate‚ by applying for a place to attend the event or by watching the live web stream of the ceremony.
Dame Helen Alexander is known for her wide and varied experience in international business. She is Deputy President of the CBI‚ where she was President until June 2011. She is chairman of the Port of London Authority‚ a non–executive director and chair of the remuneration committee at Rolls–Royce Group plc‚ and senior adviser to Bain Capital. She is a Trustee of the World Wide Web Foundation. As Chancellor she would be our most senior ambassador.
The ceremony will be 40 minutes long‚ with pageantry‚ speeches and music provided by University staff and students.

Please note that places are limited and pre–registration is essential, entry will be by badge only due to the limited capacity of the venue. The Office of the Vice-Chancellor will provide the badge and full event details when they confirm places.
