Autism Documentary Screenings: Wednesdays – 6:30PM, 44/2103 – Starting today

All students and staff are invited to three screenings of documentaries about living with Autistic Spectrum Disorders‚ provided by charity Ambitious About Autism and organised by the Students’ Union Disability Team.

The first, on 11th April, is ‘Neurotypical’ (trailer: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TS9QNAdNzRM). Neurotypical parallels the lives of three individuals on the autism spectrum, each facing a pivotal stage of growth.

The following week, on 18th April, ‘Animating Autism’ (trailer: http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=XfGhbxrbVC8) follows a group of people with different Autistic Spectrum Disorders as they collaborate on a project to create an animation.

Finally, on the 25th April, ‘Loving Lampposts’ (trailer: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zdLbkIiHH1k) asks whether Autism is a devastating sickness to be cured? Or is it a variation of the human brain – just a different way to be human?

There is no need to register, just come along.

If you have any specific needs that will enable you to access the screening, please contact [email protected]
