Student Services and the Chaplaincy are running a joint initiative across the Halls of Residences and in the Student Services Centre, requesting donations of dried/ tinned food to support the local Basics Food Bank in Burgess Road. The Basics Bank supports vulnerable people across the city and offers up to 5 days of food on a voucher system to those that are referred to them.
This follows the successful campaign at Easter that was run on the Highfield Campus by the Chaplaincy. The activity links with the ethos of the Love Food/Hate Waste campaign that has been running in Halls since February and other Recycling activities that Student Services are working in partnership with Estates and Facilities and SUSU to promote to the students within Halls.
Donations are welcomed at the following Hall Receptions: Glen Eyre, Wessex Lane, Archers Road, Highfield Hall, Erasmus Park, Bencraft and also at the Student Services Centre and Chaplaincy. Collections will continue until the 4th July.
