As you may know, the University holds information relating to equal opportunities for all members of staff. This data is used for a variety of purposes, including our statutory data return to HESA, equality and diversity monitoring reports and Equality Impact Assessments (EIAs).
Based on these reports, HEFCE and other funding bodies make decisions regarding funding, the University makes decisions relating to staff employment policies and strategies, and policy changes are assessed for their potential impact on staff from minority groups.
For these reasons, it is essential that all staff ensure that data about them is up to date. You can do this at any time using MyView, where you can view the current information held and update it to reflect your current circumstances. It is of great importance that all staff verify and update this information before 30 August 2012, in time for the data to be returned to HESA.
All data is stored and maintained in the strictest confidence, and is submitted to HESA in a coded form and identifiable information accompanies the equal opportunities data.
