We are pleased to announce the 2012 round of the WUN Research Development Fund (RDF).
The RDF is a catalytic fund bringing together WUN researchers from around the world to undertake innovative, high quality, sustainable research that addresses global challenges.
The RDF offers grants of up to £15,000 from an overall pool in 2012 of over £200,000. As an indication, in last year’s round WUN dispensed £198,534 across 17 grants, representing a 61% success rate.
As a WUN member university, we may submit a maximum of three proposals. Proposals must be related to one of the WUN global challenges. These are:
- Adapting to Climate Change (specifically Food Security, Water Security, Energy Security and Urbanisation)
- Public Health (Non-communicable Disease)
- Understanding Cultures
- Global Higher Education and Research
More information can be found on the WUN website – http://www.wun.ac.uk/news/funding-international-research-collaboration and http://southampton.likn.co/international/wun/Development_fund.html
Proposals associated with a University Strategic Research Group or Institute are particularly encouraged.
The deadline for applications to be submitted internally is 5pm GMT on Friday 12 October 2012. Proposals must be discussed with Elisa Lawson ([email protected]) prior to submission and be related to one of the WUN global challenges. Applications that are received after this time or are incomplete will not be considered.
