The Southampton Welcome project was set up to create an outstanding introduction programme for all new starters – an experience that would be powerful, comprehensive and genuinely welcoming. With Welcome Weekend upon us (22-23 September), what is the project delivering this year?
• Bringing campus to life over Welcome Weekend. There will be more facilities and services open on campus and more people available to help our new students settle in: http://southampton.likn.co/movinginweekend/
• A comprehensive Fresher’s Week schedule. See the programme here: http://www.areyouready.southampton.ac.uk/your-first-week/
• University Welcome talks – these will cover key induction topics such as health and safety and will include a welcome speech from a member of the senior management team.
• Queue busting in Building 37 – including the changes to the Atrium space e.g. new signage and people on hand to help answer questions and point students in the right direction.
• A comprehensive Halls Pack – a set of information available to students on arrival.
• The Welcome microsite is already being used by our new students to help them prepare for university life. Explore this new site at http://www.areyouready.southampton.ac.uk/
