Review of Internal Post Codes (IPC)

The Post Room recently created then made available a new IPC (internal post code) list. This was intended to improve the addressing of items when added to a piece of mail. Each different mail/collection location has been issued with an IPC, and your department will be linked to one of these IPCs because of where your mail has historically been delivered to you.

It has become clear that some sections/departments have either been omitted from the list or have been inaccurately titled.  In order that the IPC list can be as effective as it was intended to be, I would like to ask all staff dealing with post to check their own listing and offer feedback. We need the list to be as accurate and up to date as it can be, and an effective tool in helping identify the correct destination of mail.

The current version of the IPC list can be found on the Post & Portering web pages in the internal mail section at, http://southampton.likn.co/estates/services/postportering/postroom/services.html

For this or any other Post related issues, contact the Post Room on 22368

I would ask that all people addressing an item of mail in the future make use of the IPC number linked to the intended recipient.
