A team of staff and students head to Birmingham tonight for the annual Green Gown Awards.
The awards recognise and celebrate exceptional sustainability initiatives being undertaken in universities and colleges across the UK.
We have been nominated for the Southampton Blackout, which saw more than 250 staff and students take part in an enormous campus-wide energy audit – the biggest of its kind in the sector.
Volunteers from the event will attend the ceremony at the University of Birmingham. The Students’ Union Ethical and Environmental Officer, Josh Cox, gave up his ticket so that it could be raffled for volunteers.
Southampton Blackout 2013 will be bigger and better – stay tuned for more information.
