Distinguished Lecture Programme – Leading a Successful Creative Business by Tristram Carfrae of Arup Group – 3 December

As part of our inaugural Distinguished Lecture programme, we are delighted to welcome Tristram Carfrae from Arup Group to the University of Southampton, where he will be presenting his lecture: Leading a Successful Creative Business. Tristram, a structural engineer, Director and Arup fellow, was behind the design of The Water Cube – Beijing’s National Aquatics Centre for the 2008 Olympics. He also boasts an impressive portfolio of other projects including: Helix Bridge, Singapore, AAMI Stadium, Melbourne, 1 Shelley Street, Sydney and Kurilpa Bridge, Brisbane.

Arup Group is renowned for its contribution to the building of the Sydney Opera House in the 1970’s; Arup is now a multinational engineering consultancy firm with over 10,000 employees and a turnover of about £1 billion.

This is a free lecture, commencing at 18.15, open to staff and students across the university with a Q&A session to follow.
