Important notice for staff – Updating of personal information

Her Majesty’s Revenue and Customs (HMRC) has directed that employers, including the University, change the way that they provided routine pay information.  In future, pay information must be provided to HMRC to verify calculated tax monthly, rather than once a year.  This should ensure that employees and workers do not receive a large tax bill at the end of the tax period and, in future, enable the payment of certain benefits.

For this system to work, it is essential that personal information, which the University needs to hold on staff members, is up to date and identical to that held by HMRC.  Therefore, please can all staff check their data is correct by Friday 7 December 2012.

You can do this by logging in to MyView at https://myview.soton.ac.uk:9113/concerto/Portal/ and going to the Personal Details area.  Here you can check and, if necessary, update the following information:

Full Address & Postcode in the ‘Contact Details’ area.  If you have more than one address, you must use the same one that is held by HMRC and which they use in contacting you.

Middle Name in the ‘Personal Details’ area.  This must be in full and as shown on your passport or Birth Certificate.

Information that can only be changed by HR:

Please also check your Forename, Surname (which must also be recorded in full and the same as those shown on your passport or birth certificate) and Date of Birth.  You will not be able to amend these fields yourself; if they are incorrect on MyView, please contact HR Triage at http://southampton.likn.co/hr/HR_ServiceLine.html

Here you can raise a HR ServiceLine ticket with the correct information and once verified HR will amend your Forename, Surname or Date of Birth information for you.

If you have any questions on this please contact your HR Manager in the first instance.

Updating of Personal Information – Workers

All staff who submit a claim form or timesheet for payment will be individually contacted by HR.

Thank you in advance for your co-operation in helping to meet these externally imposed requirements.
