The Health and Safety training course for researchers is suitable for those who have day to day responsibility for health and safety, those who manage teaching environments, laboratory work, who coordinate field trips and/or who manage several PGRs and/or staff. It is also relevant for individuals who are responsible for authorising and implementing risk assessments.
The course (2-days in total, Part A and B) will cover the essential elements of managing research projects, students and other associated considerations at this level and is based upon the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) good practice document, Managing Health and Safety in Research Projects.
Both Parts A and B should be taken within 3 months of each other, booked on one application form and attended in order. There is a short test at the end of Part B.
