CITE Lunchtime System Seminar Series: SUSSED – Where we are, where we could go and how we might get there, Tuesday 5 February, 12.30 – 2pm

We are pleased to announce the next CITE Lunchtime System Seminar Series, presented by Patrick McSweeney (iSolutions).

Seminar title: SUSSED – Where we are, where we could go and how we might get there

SUSSED is the University portal. What this means is different to different people and as a result it imbues a range of objectives. It has been suggested that SUSSED is an outdated technology or even that it is the wrong technology for the task at hand, but these claims are not evidence based. Without understanding what the task is, we cannot know that it is the wrong tool nor suggest a tool which is better suited.

As part of my redesign and rebranding work over the past six months, I have been exploring who the people behind SUSSED are and what they think its function is. I will explain how the people that I have met, and the things I have learnt from them, have influenced my design choices to date. I will also discuss some of the things we might want to do in the future.

The talk will be followed by an opportunity to be constructively critical of the changes to SUSSED.

When:  Tuesday 5 February, 12.30-2pm

Where: Room 3019 in Building 34, Highfield

Light lunch will be provided. All welcome.

Please email [email protected], Debra Morris, to notify your intention to attend, for an idea of numbers.

We look forward to seeing as many of you as possible at this event hosted by CITE.
