Delivering Research Impact, Monday 18 March, 2pm, Nightingale Building

The impact agenda is a hot topic for the academic community, bringing both benefits and challenges. This Delivering Research Impact event will provide an opportunity for all researchers and staff supporting research to explore:

• What is impact?

• What are Research Councils/funders expecting and looking for?

• What does excellent impact look like?

An opening panel session will draw together invited speakers from the Research Councils (BBSRC, EPSRC, MRC, NIHR/NETSCC) for a keynote discussion offering insights into the external drivers affecting the impact agenda, institutional support, how the information collected is used by research councils, and accelerating impact.

An Impact Showcase will follow the key-note, featuring examples from Southampton’s research portfolio.  This interactive session will aim to inspire our research community and help to develop strategic thinking around achieving and demonstrating impact.
