The University and SUSU retained Fairtrade status in November last year. We submitted evidence against the Foundation’s five goals to show how we continue to promote the brand, which is all about ensuing farmers get a fair price for their produce. The Foundation commented on our progress, congratulating us on our work and identifying ideas for further improvements over the next two years. We are now starting to gather the evidence for our next submission, which will be in the autumn of 2014.
To help us celebrate Fairtrade Fortnight (25 February to 10 March) University catering outlets will offer 50 per cent off ‘Oh So’ Fairtrade products when bought with a hot drink and also hold a tasting of ‘Oh So’ products on the 28 February.
