This morning at approximately 07.20 the local, public, electricity grid for the whole Highfield and Avenue area of Southampton experienced a failure due to a damaged cable.
This has affected electricity supply to University buildings in this area, resulting in difficulties in some services including telephony and IT services. The University’s own teams are doing everything they can to restore services in a managed way.
