Join us this week for Multidisciplinary Research Week 2013: 17-22 March
This week full of interactive events, open to all, aims to showcase different aspects of innovative cross-disciplinary work taking place across the University.
Highlights this year will include blue sky thinking on sustainability at the inaugural TEDx Southampton University; a talk by world famous Sustainomics guru Professor Mohan Munasinghe; top academics presenting challenging arguments on ‘the brain and behaviour’, and a dynamic workshop that will allow participants to use sustainable materials to create something new.
Come along to hear how acoustic sensors can also locate reserves of gas in the seabed, how we can improve performance of hearing aids at ‘Your Brain at the Cocktail Party’, and explore examples of what new applications in imaging science can reveal in areas such as archaeology, health sciences and biological systems. The week will culminate in a celebration of United Nations World Water Day with an explosive mix of talks discussing aspects of the global water crisis and the showing of the seminal film Flow.
