Royal Mail price increase – 2 April 2013

Royal Mail has announced they will raise their UK prices for business customers across its mail product portfolio. There will also be an increase to most UK products for private customers, although the pricing for 1st and 2nd class PRIVATE (stamps) mail will only change above 100g weight level.

These changes will take effect from the 2 April 2013. You do not need to do anything about this change, but you will need to be aware that your departmental postage charges will be slightly higher due to this increase. Even with the changes the University will continue to experience far better rates than the public (stamps) receives for sending out  1st & 2nd class mail. The increase on the 2 April is only slightly higher than the University experience now. Take a look at examples of the rise here.
