This Thursday 21 March, we will be celebrating the official opening of our Malaysia campus, both here in the UK and at the new campus in EduCity@Iskandar in South Johor.
The South Johor Campus represents a major strategic investment by the University in Malaysia. The Campus welcomed its first students last September to enrol on Southampton’s world-renowned degree in Mechanical Engineering with further programmes to follow including the University’s degree in Electronic and Electrical Engineering later this year and opportunities for PhD students as well.
Adrian Newey, who earned a First Class honours degree in Aeronautics and Astronautics from the University of Southampton in 1980, will join special guests from Malaysia’s Ministry of Higher Education, the Iskandar Regional Development Agency and Iskandar Investment Berhad for the official opening in Malaysia.
Here in the UK, we will be waving the flag for our colleagues in Malaysia, support them on twitter #malaysialaunch and join us in the Arlott Bar at lunch time from 12.00, where we will be serving a special menu of Malaysian food, including:
- Malaysian Ayam Honeyed Dengan Wasi Goreng (Malaysian honeyed Chicken with fried rice)
- Malaysian Pedas Daging Lembu mi Halia (Malaysian spicy Ginger Beef Noodles)
- Kelpa Malaysia Dan mi Sayur-sayuran Kunyit (Malaysian Coconut and Turmeric Vegetable Noodles)
We look forward to seeing you there. Click here for more information on our Malaysian campus and here to find out more about the day’s activities.
