When you leave work tonight for the Easter break, please remember to switch off all non-essential electrical equipment and help us to save energy and carbon.
As part of our sustainability agenda, next term, we will be asking you to switch off for Blackout 2013. Blackout will take place on Friday 26 April and will involve small groups of staff and students working their way through office areas, switching off all non-essential electrical equipment. The teams will not go into laboratory or workshop areas.
To help us, we will be asking you to switch off your Pc, printer, heater, lights, phone chargers etc, before you go home on the 26 April. If you need to leave your Pc on, please complete the Blackout 2013 opt out form and send it to [email protected] by 1pm on Friday 19 April at the very latest, so we can assess whether you have a valid reason for leaving it switched on.
We hope you will support Blackout 2013 and, of course, we hope you switch off your Pc at the end of every day.
