Staff with parental or caring responsibilities are invited to the 17 April, Parents and Carers Network where we will share strategies for ‘Coping in Caring’.
The Parents and Carers Network was established in May 2012 and now includes 75 members who are invited to attend meetings one lunch time per month. Meetings range from informative life enhancing talks to informal networking opportunities offering peer support for the challenge of balancing caring and working roles.
Speakers have been invited to discuss subjects such as ‘Employment Law’, ‘Stress Less’, ‘How to save money’, ‘Problem Solving’, ‘Let’s make Progress’ and have been described as ‘one of the best workshops I have ever been to at the University’ and a ‘brilliant initiative, thank you so much’.
The Calendar for 2013 has been produced in response to member requests who require ‘more external sources of support for carers’, ‘more opportunity to share personal experiences’ and ‘tips for spending quality time with my children’.
Sessions now confirmed include: ‘Coping in Caring’, ‘Training for Positive and Fulfilling Relationships with your Children’ and ‘Ways In Which Adults Can Help Children Become Lifelong Readers’.
