Slaying The Dragons is a free public lecture given by Dr Allan Chapman, Oxford University.
Dr Chapman will examine common misunderstandings about key events in science-faith relations. He will expose the facts and opinions that have long been forgotten and have been supplanted by modern propaganda. His book (same title) strips away layers of misunderstanding and misinterpretation and helps us to appreciate that science and religion are not the common enemies we think they are. Allan Chapman is a historian of science and is based at Wadham College, Oxford where he teaches the history of science. His special interests are astronomy and scientific biography. He presented the Channel 4 series ‘Gods in the Sky’.
This lecture is organised by the Central South local group of Christians in Science.
