The Procurement Team are pleased to announce the introduction of a new agreement for taxi services.
Under the new contract, the University is continuing its long standing relationship with Radio Taxis (local journeys) and English Rose Collection (airport transfers) but has also made provision for new suppliers West Quay Cars (local journeys) and Salisbury & District Value Cars (airport transfers) to come on board.
Details of each of the suppliers are below:
LOCAL JOURNEYS
Radio Taxis
Local company Radio Taxis have been working with the University of Southampton for a number of years. They offer competitive rates for local journeys in and around the Southampton area.
Bookings can be made via telephone, internet (through the Radio Taxis website), e-mail, smart phone app, fax and text. Radio Taxis are also able to offer a text confirmation service which will notify the customer of the vehicles arrival and details (registration, make and colour) which can be helpful when trying to locate the correct taxi amongst Highfield traffic. This service is automatic when booking via a mobile phone but can be requested if booking through the other methods.

West Quay Cars
Based in Southampton, West Quay Cars are an established firm in the local area. They offer a professional service, with uniformed drivers, at competitive rates. Bookings can be made via telephone (dedicated University line), e-mail, internet (through the West Quay Cars website) and smart phone app (available from Google Play). West Quay also offers a text confirmation service which notifies the customer of vehicle details (make, model, registration and colour) on its arrival.

West Quay are more than happy to send in a representative to visit potential customers and assist with the setting up of their account and reporting procedures and explain personally how they operate.
West Quay is also working with the University to assist with our commitment to Carbon Reduction through vastly improved reporting mechanisms.

AIRPORT TRANSFERS
English Rose Collection
Many University staff members will already be familiar with English Rose Collection due to their longstanding relationship with the University. The company offer a premium service for airport transfers with uniformed drivers and small comforts such as complimentary refreshments en-route. Wi-Fi is also available currently in some of their vehicles (please request when booking if required) but by the end of 2013 this service will be extended across their entire fleet.

Salisbury & District Value Cars
Salisbury and District Value cars offer a premium airport transfer service in their fleet of new Mercedes e-class vehicles. Their uniformed drivers also ensure that each passenger is provided with a complimentary newspaper and refreshments for the journey. WI-FI is also available in the majority of their vehicles (please request when booking if required).
Salisbury and District Cars are also assisting the University in its commitment to Carbon Reduction through improved reporting methods. Additionally, by the end of 2013 their entire fleet will be replaced with brand new hybrid Mercedes e-class vehicles.
