Sustainability, ethics and social responsibility, one day conference, 30 May, Winchester Guildhall

The Management School is delighted to announce details of its forthcoming conference.  Titled ‘Sustainability, Ethics, and Social Responsibility’ the conference is taking place on 30 May at the Guildhall, Winchester. This one day conference will bring together academics, managers, and business practitioners to hear about and discuss how we get responsible leadership in the decade of austerity.

The theme of the conference reflects growing interest in the notion of responsible leadership as the current financial crisis and turmoil has ignited what is fast becoming a crisis of leadership itself. How to implement a more sustainable approach to management that reflects the real concerns of people requires new ways of working and leading. The conference will address the challenges of responsible leadership in today’s business and social environment with speakers from both academia and practice presenting case studies and ideas on how to enact responsible leadership.

We are particularly pleased to welcome Professor Thomas Maak from ESADE in Barcelona who is one of the foremost writers and thinkers in this area. The conference will also offer participants a choice of skill-based workshops exploring the can-do and application aspects of responsible leadership.

It promises to be a very good day with some very prominent speakers alongside some practical workshops.
