The University Post Room has once more achieved the Platinum standard.
Last month, the Post Room put itself forward for scrutiny of company Post Room standards, commonly known as an `accreditation’. The process is undertaken through bench marking of certain common activities carried out within a Post Room environment, which we were scored against. This bench marking process which is discontinued by Royal Mail is now undertaken by PLCWW who are an international logistics consultancy firm. Amongst the clients of PLCWW include various and diverse companies both in the UK and overseas, which include universities.
The Post Room have been successful in receiving the highest award available the platinum award for the 2nd time, having already achieved the highest Royal Mail standard of Gold on two previous occasions along with Silver in our first attempt at accreditation. The University of Plymouth is currently the only other University recipient of the Platinum award in the UK with the University of Southampton being the first to receive and retain it.
The Post & Portering Section is delighted that this benchmarking process has again identified the University Post Room as one of the best in the country.
“Retaining this award was made possible through constantly looking at ways to improve our service and through the hard work and willingness of the section to embrace new ideas”. Dave Caws, Post & Portering Manager
