We are pleased to announce the next CITE Lunchtime System Seminar: Authoring tools for creating online teaching /learning materials.
Presenters: Alex Furr (Xerte), Kate Borthwick/Julie Watson (LOC Toolkit) and Justin-Steele-Davies (Articulate).
Alex Furr: ‘Xerte’ is a suite of tools that allows eLearning materials to be authored quickly and easily using your web browser. Xerte is in use by hundreds of institutions all over the world by an active community of users and developers. Content authors can collaborate on projects. We are now piloting an installation at the University at www.xerte.soton.ac.uk. During this brief demonstration I will show how to quickly create a simple eLearning resource using Xerte, and also showcase the wide range of features within the toolkit.
Julie Watson and Kate Borthwick (eLanguages and LLAS): LOC – a teacher-friendly authoring tool for creating online learning resources. We will present LOC (Learning Object Creator), explaining its development and explicit learning design; providing a taster of what is achievable with it, and information about how teachers can get it! Julie Watson and Kate Borthwick (eLanguages and LLAS)
Justin-Steele-Davies (CITE): Articulate – Activity resource creation that can be linked to Blackboard – this final section will provide an insight into a new tool being explored here at Southampton.
